Emley First School is "Outstanding" as stated May 2013 by Ofsted

Welcome to Emley First School

September 2017

School Motto“Flourishing Together”

Mission Statement: “Learning and growing together with kindness, confidence and high aspirations”.

Vision Statement: At Emley First School we keep moving forward, opening up new doors and learning new things, because we are curious … and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths and teaching us new things. We are safe, we care, we are happy and our future is bright!

Our values: As children take their footsteps through school we encourage a good Growth Mindset through having a sense of belonging, identity, self-control and pride. We work in partnership with families and carers in order to give children greater life chances and promote high achievement.

The above aims and values were reviewed by the whole school staff team on the 4th September 2017 and the full governing body at their autumn term meeting and are reviewed every year.

To navigate your way around our website please click on the section headings on the left and explore the sub menus to view the different pages on the site.
You can also download our Children's Weekly News Bulletin and see who our 'Dojo' winners are each week along with 'Sportsmanship'. Also you will be able to see what each class has been learning and look at photos and videos of recent trips and events!

Our homework is uploaded weekly along with lots of information for parents.

If you would like a paper copy of any of our policies or any other information on the website then please visit our school office where Mrs Youle or Mrs Jackson will provide this free of charge.

Road Safety Song

Here is our Road Safety Song all about parking safely round school. We performed this to PC Caroline Newsome and parish councillors. It is part of a project initiated by councillors Paula Kemp and Janet Depledge, that has received the backing of both the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and West Yorkshire Police.

Our school was inspected by Ofsted in May 2013. Please click below to read our report.

Our designated safeguarding officer is Helen Cameron, Headteacher (Acting). In her absence please see Jane Youle (Bursar).
