WHAT DO GOVERNORS DO?
Governors are responsible for making sure that the school provides a good quality education.
They:-
1. Help to raise standards of education at the school
2. Are accountable for the performance of the school
3. Plan the school's future direction
4. Interview candidates for the school staff with the head teacher
5. Make decisions on the school's budget and planning
6. Ensure that the National Curriculum is taught
7. Decide how the school can encourage pupils' spiritual, moral and cultural development
8. Make sure that the school provides for all its pupils, whether gifted or have learning difficulties
