We are Year 2 and Year 3 children.
History - The Ancient Mayan
In History, we have been learning all about the Ancient Mayan Civilzation. We've studied timelines, social hierachy, Mayan artefacts, Mayan numbers and Mayan Masks. We even designed our very own Mayan masks.
English - The Tunnel
In English, we have been reading The Tunnel by Anthony Browne. We wrote persuasive letters to the little girl to help her decide whether or not to follow him into the mysterious tunnel. We had lots of fun predicting what might happen.
English - The Iron Man
In English, we have been producing work based on the The Iron Many by Ted Hughes. We have looked at many different writing genres such as diary entries, narratives and newspaper reports. For this display we focused on descriptive writing and we wrote menus for our very own scrapyard cafe for delicious treats for the Iron Man. Barbed wire spaghetti with molten meatballs anyone?
Geography - UK
In Geography, we have been learning about location knowledge. We have looked at positions of significance such as the equator and the tropics. we focused our learning onto the United Kindom, looking at the countries, capital cities, cities, counties, towns and villlages. We then looked at human and physical features of our county Yorkshire.
