Welcome to Emley First School

Welcome to Emley First School website. We provide an educational environment that challenges, nurtures and inspires each child, enabling all children to flourish and achieve their best. We encourage our pupils to be lifelong learners; independent, adaptable, curious and able to make the most of the opportunities they are given. We are committed to raising academic standards through our ambitious, broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum and environment. We see parents as our partners in the life of their child’s education ensuring they become fully involved in their child’s learning journey.

If you would like to come and see our school in action you are very welcome to make an appointment. Please get in touch on 01924 326802. If you would like to apply for your child to attend Emley First School please contact Kirklees Local Authority to find out about our admission and appeal arrangements.

Our school day starts at 8:50am with registration at 9am and ends at 3:30pm so in a typical week we are open 32.5 hours. In order for children to fulfill their full potential attendance is paramount. We actively discourage term time holidays and follow our policy and procedures regarding any absence which can be found in our Attendance Policy under the key information tab above.

Our Statement of Values and Ethos;

  • Children will be active, curious, ambitious learners who are able to take risks and persevere when things get tough
  • Children and adults will always believe in themselves, be confident and resilient, aspire to do their best with high expectations enabling them to achieve their individual potential and be proud of themselves and their achievements
