Emley First School Weather Station

As we know, our weather in Emley can be extreme. One of our governors, Mr Heath, thought it would be a great idea to build our own weather station and involve the whole school in not only creating this station but also collecting, recording and analysing the data.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all our children to learn about maths, science, literacy, geography, ICT, design technology, art and music as a cross curricular theme. Younger children will be able to make windmills, wind socks, kites and musical instruments using the wind. Whilst older children will learn all about gauges and measures alongside studying artists and authors who use the weather as a stimulus.
